In accordance to Article 70, Section 1 of the Mental Health Welfare Act, and Article 50 of the Enforcement Decree of the same Act, directors and employees of mental health promotion facilities are obliged to receive at least 4 hours of human rights training each year. Training to increase the general understanding of human rights, and the experiences of persons with mental disorders and their families, as well as training to increase the sensitivity of employees to human right, are provided.
A curriculum for both foreign and domestic human rights has been developed using cases of human rights violations. Examples of respected human rights and discussion-type trainings are provided to encourage trainee participation.
We aim to contribute to the protection and improvement of human rights of persons with mental illness by promoting awareness of mental illness and increasing the sensitivity of those working in mental health promotion facilities.
