The cultivation of mental health professionals and their role in the community is supported through the development and distribution of standard educational curricula for peer support trainings.
It has developed the “Standardized Curriculum to Cultivate Peer Supporters” as a “priority measure for the protection and rehabilitation support for people with severe mental illnesses,” which is a research project on mental health problem-solving commissioned by the Ministry of Health and Welfare. It has also recruited and selected educational institutions among mental health–related organizations and groups while establishing an operating system for fostering talents.
Support will be provided to enable peer supporters, trained based on national mental health professional training policies, to work with various local mental health-related institutions. Simultaneously, qualification and certification management training will be continued.
